Angela was born on March 21st 1474. Her parents died when she was ten. Angela died on the 27th of January 1540. She was canonized on May 24th 1807. Her Feast day is January 27th. From a young age she noticed that many young girls in her hometown had no education and little hope. Angela decided to go against the rules and help young girls by gathering women and teaching girls they saw. While making a pilgrimage to the Holy land in 1524 St Angela stopped on the island of Crete and suddenly fell ill and went blind. Angel was not going to let a small thing like blindness ruin her trip. She and her younger sister were left orphans when she was 10 years old. Young Angela was very distressed when her sister suddenly died without receiving the last sacraments. She increased her prays to God so her sisters soul could rest in peace. She dedicated her time teaching girls in her home. She was beatified on the 30th of April 1768.
